“Can’t find the words to start this song…”

Finding sources of inspiration to write new material is about as unpredictable as baseball. Sometimes ideas drizzle out, and sometimes they gush. Sometimes they just aren’t coming at all. Roger turned that all around and came up with a song about not being able to write a song.

Does this mean the dry streak is over? Two completed tunes in six months hardly seems prolific. Somehow, we still feel that using his self-proclaimed mental block as muse is best left as a one shot songwriting device.

Not as though Roger has had a lot of downtime to just stare at the sky with notebook by his side since the last update about six weeks ago. Let’s see, gigs with 27 E A S T most weekends, a fast-tracked project called Time Pieces that prepared and performed a 14 song salute to The Rascals in mid-April to coincide with that legendary band’s Broadway reunion, hosting the open mic at Godfrey Daniels Coffeehouse in Bethlehem, PA, and—you know—life stuff…

The Philadelphia area remains the target for doing a couple of shows this year. It’s worth being selective though as Roger really wants to make those count.
